This period represents my immersion in the working world after finalizing my computer science degree. Back at that time I thought it was all about software programming, so I was very glad of having a job as a programmer. So glad, that I started working for free in Q & C Information Systems, for a few months before getting my first paid job in Telynet!

Right after joining Ernst & Young I continued for a few years in the custom software development space, mainly client server. It was in 1998 that while participating in a year 2000 project for Banco de España I was offered the chance to enter the SAP world, as a SAP functional consultant for the Plant Maintenance module I participated in several projects for companies like Endesa and Basell from 1999 to 2004. Finally during this phase and as a project manager I had the chance to manage the design and implementation of Endesa Red corporate data warehouse and several modernization projects in Santalucia from legacy technologies to J2EE architecture.

The most relevant aspect of this phase was to consolidate my consulting capabilities by participating in projects in different sectors and technologies under different roles creating in me a broad and solid technological foundation that has contributed very significantly in later stages in my career.

Project delivery for Santalucia represented my entry in the Financial Sector as well as the chance of taking very significant management responsibilities, in particular the leading of all our projects and services for Santalucia as Delivery Manager and the management of +100 resources and an annual budget of +8M euros. This stage also brought together the recognition of a good career track by being promoted to Senior Manager.

In the later stage of this phase, from mid-2011 to 2013 I had the chance to directly manage the very relevant Solvency II technological implementation project in Santalucia. This last project meant an end to the delivery phases of my career and the shift to presales activities in IT transformation.
