Project lead on the development of a high-throughput plant phenotyping device
for laboratory environments. The device named "Blackbird" is capable of taking
ultra-high resolution images of 1cm leaf samples (micron-scale) which will
be used to determine disease severity by means of using own deep learning
models for image classification. The goal of this project is to accelerate QTL
association between phenotypes and genotypes of grapevine varieties in order
to find resistance against Powdery Mildew. This project has been carried out
under the scope of the multi-institutional project, VitisGen 2, led by Cornell
University.
