Albert Gómez Morillas

During my PhD in Neuropharmacology, I had the opportunity to delve deep into the mechanisms of neuroinflammation, combining in vitro and in vivo approaches. I worked with flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, Luminex, Western Blot, and specialized staining techniques (Cresyl Violet), allowing me to precisely analyze cellular and molecular responses.

But science isn’t just about lab experiments—it’s also about sharing knowledge and making research accessible. That’s why I authored a review on the role of the P2RY12 receptor in microglia and am currently working on several publications based on my research findings.

More than anything, this PhD taught me how to communicate science effectively. Through writing manuscripts, preparing presentations, and engaging in discussions with fellow researchers, I developed a real passion for translating complex scientific data into clear, meaningful insights.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with KapCode on an oncology project aimed at better understanding the experiences and unmet needs of patients with bladder cancer and their caregivers. My role involved ensuring the accuracy of medical terminology within a data analysis system, maintaining consistency and reliability in patient-reported insights.

I also collaborated with KapCode on a project focused on menopause, aiming to better understand patients’ experiences. I helped integrate medical concepts and specialized terminology into a data analysis system designed to capture patient-reported insights. This required a deep understanding of menopausal health issues and careful use of technical language to ensure the reliability of the collected data.
