As Head of Engineering, I am responsible for the strategic and technical leadership of the Global Payment Solutions department, overseeing around 25 developers across four teams. My work includes

designing and rolling out a TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) framework to improve cost visibility and control, contributing to the creation of an Engineering Competency Matrix to support structured career

development, and driving continuous process improvements. I led the introduction of the company-wide AI initiative within the engineering department, helping developers incorporate generative and agentic AI tools into their daily workflows to accelerate development. I am also

responsible for all aspects of people management in the department, including biannual performance reviews, recruitment process oversight, and close collaboration with the hiring team to support effective talent acquisition. Additionally, I define the department's technical roadmap, support the articulation of a clear long-term engineering vision, and lead technical preparations for PCI-DSS audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

I led the expansion of a newly established engineering team from 2 to 5 members and managed the development of a centralized User

Registry Service. The goal of the service was to unify multiple legacy systems with isolated user bases by centralizing registration, authentication, and age verification. Built with Laravel and developed using Test-Driven Development, the system features a flexible middleware-based architecture that allows easy integration of features like age verification. It can support multiple system groups— each comprising separate legacy systems with their own user

populations.

Managing my teams, and helping plan the new developments' architecture/technical decisions.

Besides these generic tasks, I am the owner of the TCO (Total Cost

Ownership) initiative and with this, I take care of our third-party billings, cost aggregations, mapping to teams/products, managing cost

reporting, anomaly detection, etc.

Also, I have the task of working out our application's availability initiative: how to measure, what to measure, and how to report and calculate availability on any level.

Each year's most important period is the holiday season in a marketing platform's life. This covers the period from Singles' Day, El Buen Fin until the BF/CM weekend. Preparing for the increased load on the

systems, we start planning at the end of summer and I am the one since 2022, who does the Technical Product Management of Holiday Season Preparation.
