I am a proven IT leader with over 25 years’ experience at CIO and Director level with major customer facing organisations including GE, HBoS, BNP Paribas (ARVAL), YODEL, and MITIE, I have substantial experience in the Higher Eductation Sector, and have held senior interim roles at Newcastle University, Essex University and City St Georges, University of London.
For the last 15 years I have operated as an Interim. All bar one engagements have been extended, some multiple times and I have been offered permanent roles in 5 out of the 9 interim engagements I have had during this time.
At YODEL, ARVAL and PerfectHome I delivered digital transformation roadmaps and at PerfectHome I drove a culture of digital transformation as the business transformed itself from a bricks and mortar retailer to a pure play online business. At HBOS, ARVAL, YODEL, and MITIE I was responsible for significant project portfolios.
I have designed and delivered leading-edge solutions including: one of the first CRM systems in the consumer finance space (GE), The first online credit card application and servicing system, and one of the first real time online fraud checking systems (HBOS). I have also worked with IoT (MITIE), Data Lake (MITIE & PerfectHome) Mobile Apps (YODEL and PerfectHome), and RPA (PerfectHome and Hotter).
I have considerable experience in delivering IT services and projects in large, distributed organisations. At HBOS, I was responsible for day to day 24x7 IT Delivery supporting 9.5m Accounts, and 3000+ colleagues, across 6 call centers and 1300+ branches.
At ARVAL, YODEL and MITIE and L&Q l was responsible for stabilising and turning around unreliable and failing teams, which were seen as blockers. In all of these roles I delivered significant efficiencies and cost savings.
I have a track record of developing and mentoring staff. Examples include the group CIO at Wessex Water, a former SVP EMEA For GE, and the former Head of IT at Hotter Shoes.
