Penny in a few words

Hello, I’m Penny, a three-times certified Salesforce professional with over 5 years experience in the charity sector. I learnt Salesforce by accident when a previous employer undertook a big systems overhaul. Having sworn I ‘wasn’t a techy person’, I discovered an unexpected passion!

Whether it’s tracking your fundraising pipeline, recording a beneficiary’s journey or wanting to demonstrate your impact, I understand the needs of non profit organisations and can work with you to make sure that you get the best out of your technology.

Salesforce Support  - As a freelancer

Berlin, Germany

May 2021 - Today (1 year and 4 months)

I provide freelance Salesforce consultation and support to non-profits and independent businesses. This can range from scoping and building a new Salesforce database to administration and troubleshooting on an existing one. I have worked in the charity section for 6 years so understand the priorities and challenges organisations face, and offer a friendly and jargon-free approach!

Real Systems Consultancy

Salesforce Functional Analyst

London, United Kingdom

September 2019 - April 2021 (1 year and 7 months)

Working for St Mungos' in-house Salesforce consultancy, I design, build and maintain Salesforce solutions for our customers, who mostly operate within the homelessness sector. I'm passionate about delivering the best possible user experience for everyone using our systems. By doing this we enable organizations to get the data they need to better understand the scale and complexity of homelessness and the effectiveness of their services.

School for Social Entrepreneurs

Network and community officer

London, United Kingdom

November 2017 - September 2019 (1 year and 10 months)

I was a Salesforce administrator working on the restructure of the database, providing support and training to users, and designing the functionality and look of a student community in Salesforce. I also provided support for SSE's network of schools which covered a broad range of tasks- from organising a three day International Away Day for staff from all SSE schools, to arranging physical and virtual training sessions for assessors, chasing and collating feedback on programmes via survey monkey, and providing statistics on SSE's national programmes for the Board of Trustees. I even provided the voiceover to a recent animation about School for Social Entrepreneurs' new method of grant giving, Match Trading!

School for Social Entrepreneurs

Network and programmes administrator

London, United Kingdom

November 2016 - November 2017 (1 year)

Beanstalk

Area Administrator

London, United Kingdom

May 2015 - November 2016 (1 year and 6 months)

I worked in the London branch of this national children’s literacy charity, providing administration for the recruitment, training and support of its volunteers. Day to day tasks included inputting volunteer and school information onto the database, conducting telephone interviews, requesting references, applying for DBS certificates and arranging meetings. During my time at Beanstalk I took on many additional responsibilities such as helping to set the charity up in its newest area, Somerset- including handling all volunteer enquiries and establishing a twitter page for its work in the area. I arranged small-scale events for volunteers on a termly basis, and also designed, produced and trialled a new batch of games for volunteers to take into schools.
