I have been working professionally in the industry since 2007 and have since built, integrated—and sometimes also designed—user-interfaces for an array of online businesses and products, from CMS based—e‐commerce, B2B and e‐learning platforms—to static micro-sites and product landing pages.
The accumulated experience working directly with clients/stakeholders or as part of a team in larger organizations has provided me with very good insights in project organization, communication and development. I value the importance of team work, specifying and understanding requirements, clarifying objectives and providing realistic deadlines.
I have a very good understanding of the frontend languages, libraries and workflows required to build the "modern" client-side of today's online business, but, i am not a full‐stack or JavaScript framework developer. Over the years i have mostly focused my skills on HTML, CSS, presentational JavaScript, accessibility, user-experience and the various tools and build processes required to integrate my work with a given tech stack. I prefer to use default core web technologies and build upon them—instead of using a framework—unless required otherwise.
Having a design background also gives me the ability to better understand and interpret design specifications and work closely with designers to provide realistic— usable and accessible—working solutions, bridging the gap between design and code.
