Hello future colleagues!

My name is Kammara Sumpter and I am a bilingual American writer, editor and translator currently based in Paris, France. First and foremost, I am passionate about writing and language. I thrive when I work alongside writers, editors, and publishers alike. I have over 7 years of experience in the professional writing and editing atmosphere, with my most recent positions in the publishing and teaching fields. I am a published poet and journalist, and am currently working on various fiction works. As an individual with writing and editing skills in various environments—including newspaper settings, online blogs, a local publishing house, and teaching English as a foreign language—I believe I will make a great asset to your team. I am familiar with the publication process, from manuscript to print. In addition, I have worked closely with other departments including marketing, sales, and public relations.

I am patient and flexible, willing to work around any and all situations. I am a skilled writer and editor, with emphasis on the Associated Press and Chicago style. I have a keen eye for detail, having worked as a copy editor for various employers. I am also a quick learner who is excited about new challenges and tasks.

I am currently a Freelance Writer, Editor, and Translator in the Paris region, but I am willing to work around various time zones and remote locations. After studying 5 years in the USA and living in France for 4, the French language has brought me into a deeper connection to words, grammar, and my own creative writing process. Alongside my growing proximity to the French language, my personal advancement and adoration of the English language have only been augmented. After teaching English for 3 years, I am hoping to make the transition back into full-time content production/editing.
