I am currently working as a Technical Demonstrator for the School of Journalism, Media & Cultural Studies, primarily working across the postgraduate journalism and media communications courses to support the development of industry relevant technical skills and knowledge. This ranges from mobile focused media creation, audio and video content creation, print and digital design and traditional methods of audience engagement, to the use of emerging mediums and technologies including VR, AR and spatial audio, and AI/Machine Learning processes. I also lead on the Immersive Media 3rd year undergraduate module, focusing on the application of immersive technologies, the benefits and the ethical considerations across different industries. My main area of research is the development of cross industry design frameworks for XR technology and its impact on users, and the impact on audiences in a storytelling context.

Supporting staff of the QWEST project and participants with the use of IT and audiovisual equipment. Developing marketing material, digital and print based, to promote project. Management of website content, VLE resources and social media sites. Reporting of website and social media data and working with Marketing Manager to develop projects and promotional events.

Support of students in a variety of subjects at varying levels of academia. Giving students advice and support in both academic and non-academic areas. Providing technical support for the department when necessary. Clerical duties including logs of support undertaken and assessment of students.
