Of Sri Lankan origin, Isuru arrived in France in 2020 to follow a Bachelor in Filmmaking & Cinematography at CineStudio Paris, after having validated his Audiovisual Production diploma at the Sri Lanka Television Training Institute (SLTTI).
While in Sri Lanka, he worked for Raw Entertainment and for Hiru TV and Tv Derana.
He made his first short film The Vultures in 2020 with his production company CinéIzuProduction. The short film received:
- The “Human Right Prize” Award at the Agenda14 Short Film Festival 2020,
- The “Winner Merit Award” at the 9th Youth Film Festival 2020,
- The “Winner Jury Award Best Actor” Award at the 9th Youth Film Festival 2020.
Moreover, it was selected for the official selection at the Jaffna International Cinema Festival.
Subsequently, he directed two short films "The Circle Of Life" which was selected for the official selection of the Agenda 14 Short Festival 2021, and the short film The Dummy.
With his production company, he has produced commercials for several brands and companies.
In 2023, he directed the film "Sheysha" in Sri Lanka which will be released at the end of 2023.
