I'm a director-level communications and marketing consultant with 25+ years’ experience of delivering external and internal communications, digital marketing, PR and external affairs to support strategic organisational objectives.
Since October I have started a consultancy career, working with organisations in the voluntary or public sector who want to establish a new communications and marketing function – or review their existing communications and marketing strategy and plan to ensure they are delivering the desired outcomes.
Previously, for 10 years, I have led communications teams at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) – and at BFBS, the military broadcaster and charity, where I was also part of the senior leadership team.
Potentially relevant experience includes leading a complex global rebrand for BFBS, establishing a communications and marketing strategy and department, and growing the organisation's profile and reputation among key influencers. I also led organisational change towards an insight-led approach to understanding audiences and measuring the impact of communications and marketing on business performance.
At the IET, I led a team to influence government, educators, the media, voluntary sector and employers to support the organisation’s commitment to promoting the skills agenda and engineering careers. This included developing award-winning campaigns and compelling thought leadership positions on key topics.
