Faye in a few words

As a ‘Voice Representative’ for New Look for the local store in Market Harborough and frequently, in the Leicestershire region, my understanding surrounding mental health, well-being and individual needs has helped me create a morale-based, person-focused support group for my colleagues. I work and communicate with a diverse range of team members across the country of different ages, races and religions, including partaking, and occasionally leading, monthly conference calls in which we discuss any issues and find solutions to staff-based queries. This role also includes the creation of monthly, regional newsletters which involves effective communications with other stores to relay important information and, creating presentations concisely displaying figures and stats from the weekly and monthly sales. Despite the regional responsibilities, within my local store as a Voice Rep, I offer support for other team members and a safe space to engage in any worries. These can be work or non-work related, in which I provide morale to the team when needed.

My BSc Psychology degree, which completed in June 2022 shall be eligible for Chartered Membership of the BPS, has guided me into pursuing a career in clinical psychology. The wide array of modules included has helped broaden my knowledge surrounding psychological concepts, gain expertise in analysing data and research and critically evaluate theories based on my own judgement. Within this degree, I have also shown my employability by achieving the 'Leicester Award' in July 2020, and the 'Gold Leicester Award' in March 2021. These awards were part of the University of Leicester's development programme, awarded to those who provide evidence of self-reflection, articulated skills and motivation. In addition to this, through experimental studies and report-writing, I have gained confidence within ICT, specifically, SPSS statistics, and across Microsoft.
