•Create, implement and lead the process to coordinate the activities of the 30 Tata Steel experts participating in National and International standardization, to effectively influence standards and gain competitive advantage over competitors. This includes involvement in the following technical committees (non-exhaustive): o CEN/TC 459 ´Steel Standardization´ and ISO/TC 17 ´Steel´ o CEN/TC 234 ´Gas Infrastructure´ and IGEM ´Gas Transmission and Distribution Committee´ o ISO/TC 67 ´Materials, equipment and offshore structures for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries´ and API (American Petroleum Institute)/IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) standardization (e.g., API 5L) o CEN/TC 267 ´Industrial piping and pipelines´ o CEN/TC 107 ´Pre-fabricated district heating pipe systems´ o CEN/TC 442 ´Building Information Modelling´
•Identify and analyse the regulatory frameworks relevant to Tata Steel. Foresee trends and the potential threats and opportunities for Tata Steel and/or for the steel industry
•Advise Tata Steel's Quality, Manufacturing and Marketing departments on how to comply with relevant directives (e.g., Construction Products, Pressure Equipment) and their UK equivalents post-BREXIT
•Advise Tata Steel on sustainability related regulatory changes affecting the business (e.g., drafting Environmental Product Declarations according to EN 15804 or accommodations for hydrogen distribution)
•Advise Tata Steel on digital transformation related regulatory changes affecting the business (e.g., requirements on the digital information of construction products)
•Influence inputs to the revision of the Construction Products Regulation by participating in the European Commission Acquis groups as a representative of the Dutch government
•Chair the European advisory group 'Strategy for the Construction Sector' reporting to the boards of the European Committee for Standardization
•Lead the development of standards at National and European level (e.g., convenor of the European working group ´Tubes for mechanical and general engineering purposes', chair of BSI (British Standards Institute) for 'Steel Tubes, and Iron and Steel Fittings'
•Draft and update the Declarations of Performance for the tubes products that allow the affixing of the CE and UKCA marking
•Deliver training at various stakeholder levels, internally and externally, on standardization and regulation o Presenter 'Standards, Codes & Specifications' at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and SFI Centre for Doctoral Training in Advanced Metallic Systems, Sheffield University.
